I have officially applied for study abroad in Alicante for Spring 2011, and could not be more excited! I'm just upset that I have to wait almost a whole year, but I know it will be here before I know it. I need some extra time to save up some money anyways. I can't wait to travel all over Europe!
My weekend was great. I went home Thursday night to prepare for my interviews on Friday. One was for marketing sales at ReminderMedia in King of Prussia, PA and the other was for special events at the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia. I was offered the job in KOP, but I really really really want the one at the Wilma. I have to wait until next week to hear back, and I'm so nervous. I know the interview went really well, I have a lot of experience in event planning and I really liked the women that I interviewed with. I just hope that they aren't looking for someone with more theater experience. I will be the happiest person in State College if I could work for them this summer.
I spent my remainder of Friday in Philly and went to visit Hedda at Temple. I spent the night there, the weather was beautiful and we just hung out outside the whole time. My birthday was at midnight, so my other friends came up from home to celebrate. On Saturday I went out to dinner with my family and then I had bonfire in my backyard with everyone. My sister made me a cake and I just had my neighbors and friends over. It was low-key but definitely one of my favorite birthdays.
Not to mention the AWESOME birthday present that I got from my parents. I finally I the proud owner of a Nikon D3000 digital single lens reflex! I've wanted a digital SLR for years, my Minolta is film, and I don't have an available blackroom at Penn State. I'm completely in love with it, I spent two hours taking pictures around campus yesterday. I even went to the new aboradum near the Law Building; the flowers weren't all in bloom but it was still beautiful. I can't wait to edit all of the pictures and print them. I'm even more excited to take amazing pictures when I go abroad. Best birthday present I've ever recieved! =)

"Hop on by for $5 off"
My La Vie promotion for this week, "Hop on by for $5 off", did not go as well as planned. First of all, our budget was reduced to $25, when I had originally planned it out to spend at least $65. We couldn't buy skittles, or labels to stick on them. Instead we bought a cheap candy mixture with 400 pieces and taped them to handbills.
Everyone is worried about the sales numbers for the yearbook this year, yet no one is coming to the HUB to help with events! Even if they are in the HUB, they sit in the office and hang out or eat during their office hours and don't go out and hand out handbills.
I had to cancel this week's main event, the "lucky duck" pool, which is very unfortunate because the weather today was BEAUTIFUL and the lawn was packed! I even personally texted the staff to see if they would mind hanging out on the lawn for an hour or so- I only got three responses and they were all no. Needless to say, if we want to sell books, everyone needs to help.
