Wow, I've been so busy and haven't even thought about writing a new blog in so long! So far I've been learning a lot at my new internship as a Property Manager for University City Housing in Philadelphia. I'm usually working the properties in Center City; our leasing office is in the Westbury highrise located in my favorite part of Philly. My only downfall is that I am having trouble saving money because I go shopping after work down Walnut! I have been doing such a great job touring and renting the apartments in the Westbury and our brownstones that they have been letting me cover properties in the Main Line on Saturdays. I covered in Bryn Mawr this past weekend.
So far I've gained a lot of sales experience and have learned how to talk to all differents kind of people (elderly, students, angry, concerned). It's definitely great experience for a PR major, but I'm still looking forward to working for a PR agency in the future.
I have already had a few phone interviews to be an American Eagle Campus Representative in the fall. I have submitted a video and have another interview on Thursday. I also have a phone interview this afternoon for Powell Tate Weber Shandwick to be a PR rep for their Are You Credit Wise? program. I'm really excited to get involved in both or either of these programs in the fall!
In the meantime my graphic design class begins in a few weeks and I'm working on putting a portfolio together and creating a website. I can't wait to build an awesome resume for my future!
